My Little Dream Box

My friend The Girl in the Glasses posted a Motivational Monday post yesterday (Dear, Future Me) that I thought was SO clever. You can and SHOULD pop over to read her post, but in it she highlights a website called My Little Dream Box. The site is a place you can write your future self a letter and it will hold the letter for exactly 365 days then deliver it to your email inbox. How clever!

We’re watching over your dreams – to give you the desire to make them come true, send yourself an email that you will receive in the future. In 365 days precisely, and not a day more, a message will be waiting for you in your inbox, to help you confront your personal challenges.
Follow your dreams.

Personally, I’ll be writing myself a few letters this year, I think. The one I just wrote pointed out things that I want to try to do over the next year, and asked my future self if I have achieved them. I also wrote a couple of things that are current milestones for the kids so that I can look back and remember what they were up to. Kids grow so fast, it’s easy to forget things. So this has prompted an interesting set of thoughts in my head. What’s important to you right now? What do you want to achieve in the next year? Where do you want to be in your life? What do you want to make happen? I, as always, would love to hear about it, but if you don’t want to tell me, maybe a letter to yourself would be just thing for you!

Thankful Thursday: Week 4

Here we are again, week 4 of my Gratitude Journal entries and thankfulness. Also, a quick apology for missing yesterday’s Wordless Installation. I had uploading issues.

Anyway, here we go.

Monday 4/13: Family cuddle time on the couch while geeking out to Star Wars (Episode 6). We started with Episode 4 (as one should) and it BLEW my 7 year old’s mind! This was her first time watching all the movies and I think it’s safe to say that she’s hooked.

Tuesday 4/14: Time to pamper myself a bit and paint my nails.

Wednesday 4/15: Packing up the family to take a little drive, have some dinner, and just spend time together.

Thursday 4/16: Batdad getting an earlier appointment to see the specialist about his sinuses.

Friday 4/17: Having such cool in-laws and random road trips to pick up my father-in-law so he can hang out with us. He works a very early shift in the morning and works 10+ hour days so he’s usually pretty tired in the evening. They live a little more than an hour away from us so we see them pretty frequently but he was too tired to drive after work so we went up to get him.

Saturday 4/18: Lots of family coming to Little Miss’s soccer games. Even though she didn’t feel well she tried hard.

Sunday 4/19: Feeling productive but still getting to relax a little. Going to the park to throw Styrofoam airplanes as a family.

What are YOU thankful this week?

Thankful Thursday: Week Three

Since I’ve started this project, and this installment, it’s changed the way I look at some things. I usually don’t write down the thing I’m thankful for until the next day, for a couple reasons. The first is that it makes more sense to let the day complete itself before I choose a piece of the day that should go into the journal. The second is that I find it nice to reflect on the day as a whole and note all the wonderful things that happened that could potentially “make the cut.”

Everyone has struggles in their lives, as do I, but there is so much to be thankful for as well. So, with that, here we go.

Monday 4/6: This Monday was….a Monday. Wine and Family were the two things I was most thankful for on that day.

Tuesday 4/7: Encouraging information from my Grandma’s doctor’s appointment. (If you missed the pertaining post to this, you can read it here, but the short version is that we found out that my grandma has cancer)

Wednesday 4/8: Snuggles from Little Man. He’s getting bigger and doesn’t want to snuggle as much. That makes the snuggle times much more special, even if they are short-lived.

Thursday 4/9: Working at a job I genuinely enjoy, with people I like being around.

Friday 4/10: A good hairstylist, date night, and quality time with the hubster (Batdad) talking and watching movies and just hanging out. He’s honestly one of my favorite people to be around.

Saturday 4/11: A day off where I don’t worry about doing housework. There are things that need doing, but the rare day where I don’t worry about doing them, I choose to just hang out instead, is very nice.

Sunday 4/12: Little Man having a “Mommy day.” It was just the two of us most of the day and he was very snuggly. We also visited my grandparents and I was thankful for the time to visit with them.

What are you thankful for today, this moment, this week, this month? I’d love to hear all about it!

Spread The Love

Okay, so I’m a bit late here, but earlier this month, my girl Tabitha over at Orange Owl Diaries nominated me to join in on the Spread the Love event that has been going on. This was my first time hearing of it as well, but I’m glad to join in, albeit a bit late.

As with all things, there are RULES~

  1. Write 10 four-word sentences about what love means to you
  2. Share your favorite quote on love
  3. Nominate 10 other bloggers to join in

Love is~

  • being super weird together
  • when nothing is awkward
  • being there without fail
  • loving all the imperfections
  • being absolute best friends
  • being in comfortable silence
  • kindness and non-judgment
  • laughing until it hurts
  • a built-in confidant
  • the swelling of hearts

Favorite Love Quote~

Okay, I couldn’t pick just one….

I’m choosing not to nominate anyone in particular. Instead, if you’d like to do a Spread the Love post after seeing mine, feel free to link back to me. Or, if you have any four-word sentences about love that you would like to add, feel free to leave a comment below!
